Every year fewer and fewer case go to trial, as plea bargains and settlements become the preferred way for lawyers to resolve their clients’ cases with the least amount of effort. We are trial lawyers, who firmly believe that the best results are frequently obtained at trial, from a carefully selected and well-informed jury which will provide our clients with the best possible results.
We don’t believe in criminal defense. We believe in criminal justice. We don’t merely provide our clients a defense, we ensure that our clients receive justice.
Our philosophy of pushing every case like a trial case, rather than recommending that our clients accept the first bad plea offer, reflects our basic belief that in many cases clients will not receive justice from the prosecutor or the judge, where they are frequently forced to seek meaningful justice is from a jury.
People who have been injured through someone else’s negligence deserve to have their claims backed by strong trial advocacy focused on their individual case, not by an assembly line legal process fed by mass market advertising.
New Mexico juries are known for taking care of injured people, but sadly most cases never see the inside of a courtroom.
Child Abuse and Neglect
The New Mexico Children, Youth & Families Department is frequently in the news for all the wrong reasons.
The Children’s Court operates under a different set of rules and laws than the other court divisions, children and families caught up in that system need attorneys who are well versed in the rules and laws that control these cases, and who aren’t afraid to hold CYFD’s feet to the fire and force it to prove its case at trial.
